2010 PERFORMANCE & EXHIBITIONS
ArtsWestchester Host is cultural program of ArtsWestchester, the premier arts service organization of Westchester County. Each season, we host artists in performance events and exhibitions to highlight the talent and cultural diversity of our county and communities. The calendar includes our own curatorial programs and those of affiliate organizations and community partners. In addition to specific grant support, the entire season is supported by Entergy and the Jacob Burns Foundation

CULTURA Y SABOR LATINO - A Taste Of Latino Culture
Folk Arts presents four evenings of Latino community based culture, revealing the quality and diversity of traditional art practiced throughout Westchester County. Our showcase of Latin American culture includes spirited events with live performances and samplings of regional foods. Join the fiesta and spend an evening enjoying the folk traditions and cultural life of locally based Latin American artists
>Folk Arts
This program is made possible with a grant from the Folk and Traditional Arts Program of National Endowment for the Arts and with general program support from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency
NewUrbanJazz
This hot new series is a celebration of Jazz, Urban Music and Blues by a dedicated group of home grown artists, who have toured and recorded internationally. Their appearance at the Arts Exchange fosters the development of music within our community through a separate youth mentoring program. These pros have worked with major artists such as George Benson, Ron Carter, Grover Washington, Jr. and Donny Hathaway but have not forgotten their roots. This program is co-curated by Bob Baldwin, Jr. in collaboration with City Sketches, Inc and NewUrbanJazz Lounge Radio.
>NewUrbanJazz Series
The Series is supported in part with funding from the Presenting Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and matching funds from the Jacob Burns Foundation.
The Big Read 2010: Civic Dialogue
During February and March of 2010, people across Westchester are reading Tim O’Brien’s fictionalized Vietnam memoir The Things They Carried. The Big Read transforms reading from an isolated activity to opportunities for community dialogue. The Big Read is presented in collaboration with the Westchester Library System, cultural organizations, local libraries, and colleges. Click here for information about The Big Read programs at other venues including a complete schedule.
These events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. An RSVP is requested for all events. Call 914.428.4220 x235 to reserve your seat today.
This program is supported with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
